In All His Fabulous Glory

Description

The more I think about it, the more I think Loki might be my favorite RPG character. Unfortunately, I never feel like I do him justice when I draw him -- either his design really bugs me, he ends up looking like a teenager, or, as is usually the case, both.

But when Scarlet showed me a picture of Tom Hiddleston striking this pose in his Loki costume, it gave me an excuse to fix all of that.

So now, finally, I give you RPG-Loki the way he's meant to look: in his full adult form, rocking his new and improved design, and in all his fabulous glory.

A quick bio, if you care to read one:

Loki
Parents: Annabeth (OC) and the Rum Tum Tugger
Mate: Hermes
Orientation: Bisexual; prefers toms, but will go for a queen if she's got the right stuff

Loki is basically Tugger 2.0. He's very laidback, carefree, and lazy, and will flirt with just about anything that moves. He's a charmer; he knows he's good-looking, and he knows exactly how to flaunt it. He loves attention and being in the spotlight. His ego is large enough to fill a room, but despite this, you can't deny that he's a talented performer, and he knows it -- he and Tugger have been known to fight for the spotlight during the Jellicle Ball. Extremely open and almost too comfortable with himself, Loki practically oozes rainbows; he doesn't care the slightest bit what anyone else thinks of him. It's almost impossible to offend him or make him lose his cool.

He's a bit more complex than all that, though. Although he appears very shallow initially, Loki isn't stupid. The difference between him and Tugger is that Loki knows his father made a lot of mistakes in his life -- him being one of them -- and makes an active effort not to let himself follow the same path. Behind closed doors, Loki is a very complex cat. He doesn't let it show, but the truth is that he harbors some very mixed feelings toward his upbringing. He greatly resents Tugger for being a horrible father and, as much as he acts like him, tries not to associate with him whenever he can avoid it. At the same time, though, he also holds himself at least somewhat responsible for driving his family apart and making his parents split up. He's very conscious of his own problems, but lives his life suppressing them. At the end of the day, he's a very romantic and affectionate guy who finds some of his greatest joy in showering his mate in all the love he can give, and who becomes extremely protective the instant Hermes's happiness is jeopardized -- because the last thing he wants is to become another Tugger.

Needless to say, Hermes is a very lucky guy.
