Happy World AIDS Day!
(. . . Does "happy" really make sense there . . .?)
Anyway, just a quick tribute to Timothy Scott, one of the most undervalued people in CATS history. He was Broadway's original Mistoffelees, who tragically died of AIDS at the age of 32. I don't believe he's appreciated nearly as much as he should be, and I thought this day would be a nice excuse to try and fix that.
I used a reference picture from my copy of CATS: The Book of the Musical
, although I had to guess in some parts and I sorta fudged the anatomy.
I fail at accurately recreating faces from photographs, but I tried my best. The quotes around him are all from A Cat's Diary
by Stephen Hanan (Broadway's original Gus), which is a very emotional, inspiring, and highly adorable story. The quotes are all from Stephen himself, except the one in a different font -- that one is the best Tim Scott quote ever, methinks.
And, of course, the big shiny quote up at the top is Tim's personal quote as well."What an amazing sweet man! And once again life offers a mix of disappointment with blissful love. May the latter prevail."
