Oh Hey There Munkustrap

As I mentioned previously, my tablet was out of commission for about a week. But when you gotta draw something, you gotta draw something -- and when ~Echowhisper136719 made me realize I was becoming a Munkustrap fangirl, I felt inspired. So I drew a thing.

So . . . yeah. This actually turned out to be a bigger undertaking than I thought it would be. It took several days, and coloring in all the stripes took FOREVER (probably because all I used was a mechanical pencil. Maybe this is a sign that I should think about learning to use those special drawing pencils). But I'm not going to lie -- I'm REALLY pleased with how this turned out. It's completely freehanded, although did have to study that picture of Munkustrap intensely while drawing it (not that I'm complaining about that). My biggest complaint about it now is that the eyes are way too big, but then again, I've yet to draw a human face in which the eyes are actually the right size. So for me, this is good enough. This picture definitely has some of the best anatomy I've done to date.

I hope you like this! My tablet is working again now, so the next thing you see from me will be digital -- but I have to admit that it's kind of nice to revert back to traditional art every now and again (even if there's no ctrl+z or scaling feature).

EDIT: Finally got around to cleaning this up in Photoshop. I cropped it so that it's now centered, and reduced the contrast and brightness so that the shading shows up better.
