You and I

They say if a friendship can last seven years, it will last a lifetime.

So I just wanted to do something to mark the seven-year anniversary of the (approximate) day ScarletteGoddess and I met. Man, how did it all go by so quickly?

What a wild ride it's been. When we met, I was just starting high school and you were still in middle school; now we're both in college. We practically grew up together. In all that time, we've been through all sorts of ups and downs. We've been each other's inspirations and shared so many late nights, laughs, ideas, and memories. We've gotten on each other's nerves and toughed it out through our share of fights and low points; it was worth it in the end because it's helped us understand each other that much better. Other friends and relationships have come and gone, and though we both have our own lives now and are happy that way, throughout it all we've both been a constant. And our journey's not done yet! We're currently in the process of creating something huge. It's like our baby that's been growing with us for seven years. I couldn't be more excited to see what still lies in store.

And of course I'm not going to act like I haven't made my share of mistakes. Yeah, I've messed up a few times. You've nearly given up on me and I didn't always deserve you giving me another chance. But you always did. You never lost faith in me. You've had to knock some sense into me and make me realize what's important, but I see it now. I'll do my best to make sure you know you've made the right decision about me for all the years still ahead of us.

I could go on, but I'll stop there. In conclusion, I hope I haven't beaten the bridge metaphor TOO much into the ground by now. And, Scarlet, keep looking up.
